Entry Rates for a given year are computed by dividing the unduplicated count of children entering foster care by the child population and then multiplying by 1,000.
Important note: As of Quarter 2, 2011 annual rates for 1998-2011 will be calculated using updated population data from the California Department of Finance. Because population data are derived from three different sources, analysis of trends is not recommended. Please consult the Population methodology for important details. http://cssr.berkeley.edu/cwscmsreports/methodologies/default.aspx?report=Population
