CHILD POPULATION DATA INDEX
Our child abuse referrals rates, entry rates and caseload in care rates data are based on the population data shown below.
The reports below summarize the California Department of Finance annual population projections by county, and by age and race/ethnicity for the years 1998-2007.
NOTE: Age ranges are inclusive. For example, 0-17 includes all children birth to 17 years old; that is, all children who have not yet had their 18th birthday.
- 1998-1999 Annual population projections are based on the 1990 Census.
- 2000-2007 Annual population projections are based on the 2000 Census.
Please also note that the projections show a large decrease in the number of Native American infants for the years 2000 through 2007 (which affects rates reported for this group on our web site). We have notified the DOF of this data irregularity.
