    FOSTER CARE DYNAMICS:
These reports include entry and / or exit cohorts as well as other data beyond the first entry cohorts.

    • Caseload Flow
These reports examine total first entries to care, reentries to care, exits from care, and net change in the child welfare supervised foster care population.
    • Change Reasons
These reports examine the reported reason for each out-of-home placement change during the year.
    • Exits Per Year
These reports provide detail on exits from child welfare supervised foster care. The number of exiting children per year and the type of exit (e.g. reunification, adoption) are provided. These tables have been generated by county of removal, and by age/ethnicity/gender or with kin/non-kin placement type.
    • Permanency Indices
These permanency indices are computed by dividing the number of children exiting foster care to permanency in a given year (reunification, adoption, Kin-GAP, guardianship, or total permanency) by the total number of children in care at any time during the year.
    • Disparity Indices
These reports examine the level to which groups of children are present in the child welfare system at higher or lower rates than their presence in the general population, and compare the lack of equity between ethnic groups with respect to different outcomes.
Make sure to note the data source of the reports you are using, since data may be updated quarterly, bi-annually, or annually.
